Passenger Bakes A Cheesecake Using Southwest Airlines Mix, Shapes It Like The LUV Carrier’s Logo

Jem Jebbia, a PhD candidate in Religious Studies at Stanford, loves Southwest Airlines and its route network from California so much that she’s made a special baking tribute to the airline and its snacks on TikTok. The woman, who goes by ‘JemTheBaker’ on the controversial Chinese company’s social media platform, decided to make dessert out of snack mix.

She used the airline’s free snack mix as a crust to make Jell-o cheesecake. The pan was heart-shaped, natch, so that her creation would take the form of Southwest’s logo.

Jebbia says she got the snack mix by “hoarding” packages from her flights, though maybe she should have just asked for extra packages explaining her cunning plan to a flight attendant?

Other creative things people use Southwest Airlines snack for – besides eating them – include turning the into crowns and wearing them on their head.

Personally I can’t get past the idea of Jell-o cheesecake. Who would want to eat that? I admit I’m a bit biased against cheesecakes generally since my body became 5% Eli’s cheesecake flying United Airlines in the late 90s.

As for Southwest snacks, the airline highlights that they are free but all of the largest U.S. airlines have free snacks in economy. Southwest doesn’t offer anything more extensive, and when the carrier used to serve peanuts late CEO Herb Kelleher described the reason being that they’re cheap. In his words, “Do you know what the difference in cost is between peanuts and Snickers?”

Now Snickers I can turn into a proper dessert.
