FARE DEAL: Business Class To Eastern Europe From $1099 Roundtrip

Air Serbia is offering New York JFK – Belgrade from $1099 roundtrip in business class for travel in November. This was first spotted by Thrifty Traveler‘s premium airfare deal alert service. Several connections are well-priced also on the Air Serbia sale page.

During the pandemic Air Serbia replaced its Airbus A330 and introduced a new business class with staggered lie-flat seats. Credit flight miles to Etihad Guest.

Known for dance clubs (party boats on the Danube are more of a summer thing), you might still enjoy the beach and tourism in and around Belgrade as well. Belgrade Fortress is one of the world’s oldest strongholds, invaded more than 100 times. And drink Rajika (fruit brandy) while you visit the city. You might also use Serbia as a jumping off point for the rest of the region, and Nikola Tesla Airport is easy for short connections.

Note: Thrifty Traveler is an excellent airfare and award alert service. It comes at a $59 price per year for their annual plan but many readers find it worthwhile. I’ve shared several award availability alerts from their service in the past few months.

On November 3 they’re creating a new premium tier at $130 per year, but signing up now gets you grandfathered in at current pricing for life. So if you’re considering joining, do so now. (I do not receive any referral credit for this, just flagging for those interested.) They promise “even more award alerts…as discounted first and business class fares – plus the cheap domestic and international alerts, mistake fares” and all current $59 members will get this without the price increase.

  1. Visited Belgrade during the commie years and it was pretty sad though the restaurants in the river are good. I’m sure it is improved now but shouldn’t be on anyone’s bucket list.

Maybe a useful fare for anyone looking for a cheap flight to Dubrovnik or perhaps onwards to Greece.

  2. Also, AirSerbia is one of the very few airlines that still flies to Moscow but avoiding Ukrainian and Belorussian airspace.
