My flight home on @AmericanAir was canceled last night after keeping us on the tarmac for 2 hrs. The pilot finally said, “They have no plan,” and let us off the plane. Rebooked on a flight today.

I’m sure you know, and utilize, the more practical hacks to rent cars at more normal prices.
A little over ten years ago, I was in some Mediterranean country, at some friends who lived there. The guy’s wife of 25 years was telling me about her new business venture with a woman in Dallas, which was basically a retail store, and, in spite of not having opened yet, required her to take multiple TATL flights in J.
All that was typical eye-raising stuff she did; coming from a rich family, her idea of running a business was to keep expenses around three times her revenue. But later she said, defensively, “Actually, people in Texas are very cultured.” I called my GF (now wife) and said “Oh my God, she’s cheating on him.”
Say what you want about Texas and Texans – I’ve never seen one get defensive about the Republic.

Gonzo – I agree with you 100%. Since I live in Texas, some would say I am biased – when, actually, I am smart – which is something that the naysayers here will never be accused of being.
