Hotel employees at the Allen Park Holiday Inn Express & Suites near the Detroit airport thought one of their guests might be dead. They called the police.

Check-out time had passed and the man hadn’t vacated his room. Hotel staff went in and found the guest unresponsive. Paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene and woke the guy up. And he was none too pleased at the disturbance.

An Allen Park firefighter, who was already in the room, told police that when paramedics awakened the 51-year-old Livonia man he became irate about the presence of firefighters in his room.

Police were told that the man jumped out of bed and brushed off a small blue bag, containing a suspected crack rock, off the nightstand. He then ran from the room, wearing only unzipped jeans and yelling “The (expletive) firefighters broke in!”

A police officer tried to get the man to get dressed, but he refused – claiming “the clothing in the room did not belong to him” and also that the Fire Department was “framing him.” He went with a fully-committed Shaggy Defense.

The guest was arrested for possession of crack and disorderly conduct. His car had an “improper license plate” and he had no insurance, either. But he didn’t apparently have to pay extra for overstaying checkout time.
