I just wrote about $675 roundtrip from Vietnam to the US in Cathay Pacific business class. Even if you just book a one way award ticket to Asia and use this for your flight back to the U.S. it’s an amazing steal.

The fare would be pretty nice for earning miles indeed an Alaska Airlines MVP Gold 75K would earn 475% of flown miles on the long haul segments.
As I wrote earlier we don’t know for certain how Cathay will feel about such a deep discount airfare sale, whether they might get seller’s remorse, so I’d wait a few days after buying additional travel or making additional non-refundable plans around the fare.
But if I go pre-pay for expensive non-refundable hotels and other non refundable excursions, wouldn’t they be more likely to allow me to keep the fare rather than reimbursing me?

Well, it’s $42,000 now. I couldn’t find a hotel room over $350 in Hanoi or $1000 in South Vietnam.
Anyone with some ideas on stuff I can prepay?
Can you board the Eastbound flight in HKG? I assume there is no problem deplaning In HKG Westbound ??
