• Leaked details of MGM Mlife’s new co-brand credit card. I expect there’ll be more than the unpublished benefits, which look weak, such as cardholder access to VIP experiences which in Vegas can be pretty cool. Otherwise it’s probably better for most to get a card from Hyatt which comes with their Platinum status and matches over to better MGM status than the MGM co-brand will offer.

• United MileagePlus Shopping portal 1,000 bonus miles for $250 in cumulative spend between May 30 and June 5.

• Cathay Pacific’s new business class seat on the Airbus A350 builds on the current seat will,

  …include additional storage space, the ability to slide the meal table forward and back, and a degree of tilt for the large HD video screen, which is now paired with an Android-based ‘second screen’ controller.

  The overall design has also been given a swish make-over by Porsche Design Group to enhance the seat’s premium look.

• “Ride-Sharing, Vehicle Accidents, and Crime” (HT: Marginal Revolution)

  Using a unique panel of over 150 cities and counties from 2010 through 2013, we investigate whether the introduction of the ride-sharing service, Uber, is associated with changes in vehicle accidents and crime. We find that Uber’s entry lowers the rate of DUIs and fatal accidents

• Now LATAM is ending Venezuela service

  Flights between Sao Paulo and Caracas will stop at the end of May, and those from Santiago and Lima will end in July, the company said, adding that it would work to restart operations “as soon as conditions permitted”.

• Aeromexico realizes that Robert Frost was being ironic when he wrote ‘good fences make good neighbors’ and asks when borders between us have ever led to anything positive? (HT: One Mile at a Time) Of course, Aeromexico is allowed to spend money advancing this idea only because of Citizens United.(Yes, I was being ironic.)
