NEW: 100K Miles With A Simple $5K Spend, The Ultimate United Business Card Offer

Chase’s UnitedSM Business Card has an amazing initial bonus offer to earn 100,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open.

That’s a huge up front bonus, without a huge spending requirement (an average of less than $1,700 per month) and of course you can prepay some bills if you need to.

The card will earn 2 miles per $1 spent on United® purchases, dining (including eligible delivery services), at gas stations, office supply stores, and on local transit and commuting; and earn 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases.

Cardmembers can enjoy a free first checked bag – a savings of up to $140 per roundtrip (terms apply), 2 United ClubSM one-time passes per year, and priority boarding privileges.

Also, the card offers a $100 United® travel credit after 7 United flight purchases of $100 or more each anniversary year.

They even encourage you to have both a business and personal United card because you’ll receive a 5,000-mile “better together” bonus each anniversary when you have both the UnitedSM Business Card and a personal Chase United® credit card.

If you’re in a position to get a small business card, I think the only reason not to get the UnitedSM Business Card is if you want to prioritize Chase’s Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card instead, since it has an offer to earn 100k bonus points after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening and those points transfer to United or a variety of other airline and hotel programs.

It’s possible to be approved for more than one Chase business card, though I wouldn’t apply for Chase cards more than once every 30 days. So you need to decide which to prioritize.

And you generally need to be under ‘5/24’ to be approved meaning you need to have had fewer than 5 new cards in the past 24 months. In any case they should not report on your personal credit, and as a result shouldn’t add to your 5/24 total.

This is a fantastic offer, and more of you are probably eligible for it than may realize it. If you have 1099 income, you do some side work or consulting, then it’s a good idea to keep your business finances separate from personal. You want to demonstrate that you have a bona fide business and not a hobby for IRS purposes. So getting a small business credit card like this one is often one of the first steps to take in a business.

  1. Every time I check for transpacific J flights on United, it’s 200k points one-way. Not sure getting halfway there for just a single one way ticket is worth the trouble of getting another card with not so great benefits.

  2. This was a good deal for me as I had the United Explorer card at $99 annually. So switching cards kept me at the same annual fee and got me 100K miles. Any maybe got Gary a few miles too. Thanks Gary.
