Maximize Your Hyatt Stays: Earn 1,000 Extra Etihad Points Per Stay

Every Hyatt stay completed between February 1 and March 30, 2024 will earn 1,000 bonus Etihad Guest points – on top of all the earning that you usually do (Hyatt points and American AAdvantage miles). Registration required by February 29.

This is a great offer because it’s just extra – more points than you would otherwise earn, and you don’t have to choose these points instead of Hyatt’s points. (Someone choosing to earn airline miles instead of Hyatt points with another airline wouldn’t be able to do this.) And award stays earn these bonus miles ,too.

  • You need to be a Hyatt and Etihad member, obviously. You register and link your accounts.
  • Stays with Hyatt and SLH properties which participate in the World of Hyatt program qualify.
  • If you happen to prefer earning Etihad miles instead of Hyatt points for your stay, you get the standard 500 Etihad miles plus 1,000 bonus miles.
  • Bonus miles may take 6-8 weeks after checkout to post.

Etihad awards tend to be costly. They rolled out new distance-based award charts a year ago, and the best sweet spots like American Airlines and Royal Air Maroc redemptions are gone. Still, they’re reasonably priced for short distance partner trips. And they make award space available for their own flights that are no longer bookable through partners like First Apartment awards booked in advance on their Airbus A380.

1,000 miles per stay isn’t going to change the world, especially since it’s limited to a two month time horizon. However I’m not going to turn down the 1,000 miles on each stay, either. And Etihad is a transfer partner of American Express, Citibank, and Capital One so adding to your Etihad Guest account is doable.

  1. Aren’t EY flights available for booking using OmanAir miles? I usually credit my OmanAir flights to the EY program. Not my first choice, but it’s been EY or WY programs as options when wanting to get any loyalty program credit for flying OmanAir flights.

The EY awards for RAM flights in business class were a good deal. Too bad that it bit the dust.

  2. To save others searching, it appears that all partners begin at 6,000 miles for a <500 mile economy flight.
